Where the odd duck, non-traditional, eldest daughters and black sheep girlies come to discuss all things momma-shoulda-taught-me (and “why didn’t they teach this in school?!”)… with the occasional “WTF, Disney?!” rant.

From YouTube hair and makeup tutorials that saved us to the D*sney bullshit that raised us… and the crazy things we don’t know why we do (that are making are lives chaotic).

5 Ways My Mommy Issues Were Ruining My Life (and what I did about them)

COMING SOON

Therapy, Toxic Relationships, and Going No-Contact with Mom

UP NEXT:

Hi, I’m Robyn.

& I had a mom. Sometimes. Sort of.

She existed, but she was rarely there, you know? She was an alcoholic and an addict… both of my parents were… and while I never got caught up in addiction, I grew up to have a lot of addictive behaviors . I struggled with emotional regulation well into my 20s. I had a hard time keeping a job, moved around a ton, leapt from one toxic relationship to the next, and was always on the struggle bus…

Until one day, I had enough.

(Actually, until I finally found a therapist who was able to help… and stuck with it and did some insanely hard work for 8 months straight… and learned so much of what I share with you here at No Mommy, No Crime. But “one day, it all changed” sure sounds more encouraging, I know.)

I had to fight like hell to get control of my life.

I felt really alone while I did it… but maybe if I talk about it, it’ll make your experience easier. That’s my hope.

I’ll be adding resources as often as I can and I’ll be doing my best to share validating, relatable, and helpful conversations here on the blog and over on my social media channels (Instagram | Tiktok) . If there’s something you’re going through that nobody seems to be talking about, send me a message and let’s talk.

You’re probably not alone, and however massive or embarrassing the thing is, I can pretty much guarantee you there are a bunch of other women struggling quietly with the exact same thing. That’s been my experience.

It’s silly that we keep going through all of this crazy sh*t alone for the sake of saving a little face.

I’ll always do my best to do the embarrassing thing and go first, so if you like the sound of that, stick around. You have a safe space and a friend here.

xoxo,
Robyn
